In a new documentary from director Chris Paine, titled ‘Do you trust this Computer?”, Tech Billionaire, and CEO of Space X and Tesla, Elon Musk has said that;
"At least when there's an evil dictator, that human is going to die. But for an AI there would be no death. It would live forever, and then you'd have an immortal dictator, from which we could never escape".
"If AI has a goal and humanity just happens to be in the way, it will destroy humanity as a matter of course without even thinking about it. No hard feelings."
Evil artificial intelligence (AI) sounds slightly far fetched in 2018, however the future most certainly will have AI controlled applications, and with the reservations by reputable technologists such as the late Stephen Hawkins, who warned about an AI apocalypse, Elon’s views are one that should be taken seriously.
Last week, an open letter was sent to boycott a South Korean University for building Killer Robots, and over at Google, employee’s have been protesting the company’s involvement in Project Maven, which is a program to analysis drone footage on behalf of the Pentagon.
Elsewhere it has been postulated that Russia has been using algorithms to undermine western democracies and wired has reported that China plans on launching a Social Credit System to monitor its citizens by 2020.
